The belt speed sensor (BSS) is intended for measuring of magnitude of the linear displacement of the conveyor belt. The operating principle of BSS consists in transformation of the linear displacement of the conveyor belt to the rotation of the measuring wheel and impulse shaping at each turning movement of the coding disk, linked with it, on a certain angle. Thus, one impulse of BSS is proportional to the linear displacement of the conveyor belt on the magnitude, determined by the diameter of the measuring wheel and number of marks on the coding disk.
